We are now finished with two longer books of the bible, Genesis and John. So this week begins two new books, Exodus, featuring Moses, and Luke, which like John features Jesus primarily. But new to the mix is a third reading, and that is taken from the poetry of the Psalms.

Year in the Bible 
Just a quick thought on the last of week 3: I had an eerie feeling as I read John 19:35. The writer breaks from the narrative and is speaking directly to the reader in this verse. Could he have had any notion of how many people would come to read these powerful words? I thought it was an amazing thing to insert right there.
It is great for him to break from the narrative to make a striking statement about the purpose of his writing.
